Where can I buy fresh seafood, like crabs and shrimp to cook in and around Houston, Texas near the causeway?

We bought some fresh seafood at this place while on vacation in Crystal Beach several years ago. Now, I am living here in Texas and plan on another trip to the coast.
Anyway, it is the oldest place or has been in the seafood business the longest. It is located on the Houston side of the causeway rather than the Galveston side. We even bought our seafood seasoning there as well to go with the shrimp and crabs. I am not really sure about this, but I want to say, if I remember correctly, that this business may even be located near water? Maybe in the surrounding area of a HEB?, since I bought potatoes and corn for the boil. I have tried doing a internet search and even called a few places without any luck at all. Can you help? Thanks.

The place you are talking about is probably on Highway 146 at the Dickinson Bayou bridge. I think it is called Hillman’s.
From Houston, go south on I45 to the town of Dickinson. At state highway 517, take the exit and go left towards San Leon. When you get to 146, turn right and the place you are talking about is by the base of the bridge on the right. If my memory isn’t serving me correctly, just stop and ask. You will be close to it.
The HEB is on I45 at FM517. It is fairly new so it could not have been any longer than 4 or 5 years ago that you were there. From the shrimp place, go on over the bridge and the highway (146) will take you back to I45 about a mile or so from the causeway.
If you bought the seafood in Crystal Beach, it was Milt’s or JB Seafood. Crystal Beach (Bolivar Peninsula) now has several places that have very fresh crabs and shrimp.

i know you cant buy premade things like sandwishes or rotissire chickens but its my birthday and i would like to treat my self i was wondering if anyone knew if i could use foodstamps at my local grocerie stores seafood department? thanks for you time

Happy Birthday and yes you can use your Food Stamps/EBT card to buy seafood from the Seafood Department of your supermarket as long as it is not steamed or cooked there on the premises – like steam lobster or crab. You can buy fish, shrimp – fresh or previously cooked, like the kind you would use to make shrimp cocktail, oysters, clams, mussels, scallops, frozen crab legs, etc.
