Seafood BBQ at Muara Karang Jakarta

Muara Karang is in North Jakarta on the waterfront. It is far from commercialized and on the 3 times that I went it was not at all popular with Westerners.
The Seafood was fantastic and my favourites were the Trevally and Squid, simply BBQ’d over coconut husks in one of the small (and very simple) restaurants at the end of the seafood market area.
Going at night is probably best as even without light it looks a bit grubby.

I was there 3 years …
I was there 3 years ago but the seafood is not very fresh! I guess they don’t know how to keep it alive but the cooking is awesome!
