Pro at Cooking – Episode 1 – Dave’s Seafood Stirfry

If you don’t like shrimp, you can go to hell.

Don’t like seafood? Too bad for you.

http://www.proatcooking.com/

A: Ingredients

* tons of shrimp (it’s optional to keep the shell when cooking)
* cashew nuts
* small amount of sesame seeds
* half of a lemon
* quarter of an onion
* some peas
* mushroom
* zucchini
* peppers
* garlic

This message is for those who couldn’t cook anything without knowing the exact amount of ingredients. The exact number doesn’t matter that much. You should feel free to put in more of something you like, and reduce or remove the ingredients you don’t like very much. I’m not gonna even start going on about what happens if you are feeding quite a few people ‘cuz you simply need to find out how much the fat bastards can eat, and then add whatever amount is required.

B: Directions

1: As mentioned, you can either keep the shell when cooking and remove it after, or remove the shell first, but do chop the head off the shrimp.

2: After washing the vegetables, chop up the peppers and zucchini so they are about the same size. Cut the mushrooms bigger.

3: Ground some garlic.

4: Prepare to fry the shrimp. You can use either butter or olive oil for shrimp frying. We all know which one is more tasty, so it’s really a matter of how much you think your heart can take.

5: Heat the pan to a medium heat and melt the butter. Let it heat up a bit, then put in the garlic. Cook the ground garlic for about 30 seconds so that the flavour of the garlic will go into the butter or olive oil. Don’t cook it too much ‘cuz burned garlic is not very good.

Put in the shrimp, slowly frying it on all sides. Just before it changes color completely, squeeze half of a lemon into the frying pan, and mix well. Keep on frying the shrimp slowly for a couple of minutes, then stop heating it completely. Be careful not to cook it too much ‘cuz we are gonna cook it again with the veggies after.

6: Cook the vegetables. Put olive oil in a pan, and then some onion. Cook the onion a little bit, then put in zucchini, pepper, mushrooms, peas, cashew nuts, sesame seeds and all the other crazy little things you can think of that might go well with your stir fry. I fry it with just pepper and salt. You can obviously put in whatever spices you prefer.

I fry my veggies on high heat. You can fry yours at whatever heat you like. Different stoves provide very different types of heat. Gas stoves provide very fast and even heat; mine is electrical and it’s shit. If you are lucky enough to have a gas stove (or other fancy stove) at home, then you are off to a good start.

Try to forget about how long exactly you should cook the veggies. You only need to know how you prefer your vegetables to be cooked. Cook it longer if you like everything softer. Put it on high heat so that the veggies get a little burned on the outside. Basically, use common sense and don’t be a noob.

7: Add the shrimp into the veggies. Soya sauce and oyster sauce are optional.

8: Finally, let the whole thing cook together for about 5 minutes.

Get a nice bottle of red, you are gtg!
